Ken Weingardt

Ken Weingardt, PhD is a clinical psychologist who has held leadership positions in academia, government, and industry that have all focused on improving access to evidence-based mental health services. He has been on the faculty at Stanford and Northwestern Medical Schools and served in the Department of Veterans Affairs for nearly 20 years. He has published over 60 articles focused on clinical training, health services research, and implementation science. The culmination of his VA career was serving as the National Director for VA Mental Health Web Services where he partnered with veterans to design and develop web and mobile applications for PTSD, Substance Use Disorders, Anger Management, Depression, Insomnia, and similar life challenges.

After spending several years working for behavioral health technology startup companies in San Francisco, he came to appreciate the enormous potential of psychedelics to transform lives and improve public health. He then made the difficult decision to leave technology and pivot his career to focus on the emerging science to support MDMA and other breakthrough treatments. In his current position as Director of Clinical Programs at Healing Breakthrough, he leads our efforts to catalyze the clinical demonstration projects necessary to make MDMA available through both VA and community clinics.
